College basketball rankings: Duke drops in new Top 25 And 1 following overtime loss to Florida State

Duke lost its second road game of the season late Tuesday - 79-78 in overtime at Florida State. For the second time this season, the court was stormed on the Blue Devils. So, this is obviously going to be a thing in what is Mike Krzyzewski's final season on the sideline.

Step 1: Beat Duke

Step 2: Storm the court

Court stormings are often reserved for massive upsets, but the truth is that there was nothing too shocking about this result. Sure, Duke closed as a 5.5-point favorite, so it was indeed an upset. But Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton has made a career winning games like this, evidence being that the victory over Duke represented the 55th time he's coached an unranked team to a win over a school ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Literally nobody has done it more.

Among the issues for Duke against Florida State was defensive rebounding -- something that's been a problem all season. The Seminoles missed 47 shots, but grabbed 19 of them for an offensive rebounding rate of 40.4 that contributed to 18 more shots, and seven more free throws, than the Blue Devils. So, if you're wondering how Florida State won despite shooting 35.6% from the field while Duke shot 49.1%, your answer can be found in that sentence. It should also be noted that Duke is allowing its opponents to rebound 29.9% of their missed shots on the season. That ranks 237th nationally.

With the loss, Duke is now 3-2 in Quadrant 1 and 1-1 in Quadrant 2 - or 4-3 in the first two quadrants. The Blue Devils are down to 16th in Wednesday morning's updated AP Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings. Meanwhile, Texas Tech jumped from 21st to 14th thanks to its 72-60 win over Iowa State that represents the Red Raiders' fourth Quadrant 1 win. Iowa State dropped to 15th. Those developments are what caused Xavier, USC, Ohio State, Providence and Illinois to be pushed down one spot each through no fault of their own.
