Former test cricketer Andrew Symonds dies in car accident

SYDNEY (AP) - Former Australian Test cricketer Andrew Symonds has been killed in a car crash.

Several Australian media outlets reported the death Sunday of the 46-year-old in a single vehicle accident near his Townsville home in Queensland state.

The Australian newspaper reported the accident occured late Saturday local time and cited a statement from family confirming his death.

Symonds, a big-hitting allrounder, played 26 Tests with two centuries, but was better known as a limited overs specialist playing 198 ODIs for Australia, winning two World Cups.
