NFL Championship Sunday injury reports: Tyrann Mathieu questionable for Chiefs playoff matchup vs. Bengals

The NFL is down to its final four and Championship Sunday is right around the corner. Each of these teams has put the finishing touches on its on-field preparations for the AFC and NFC championship games and is set to try and punch a ticket to Los Angeles for Super Bowl LVI. Of course, one of the consistent storylines that comes around every week revolves around injuries and this playoff slate is no different.

Below, you can find the final injury reports for all four remaining teams and can see which players have been given the green light to suit up along with those who are have been ruled out and still have their statuses in question.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs (-7)

  • Bengals: DE Cam Sample (groin), WR Stanley Morgan (hamstring) DOUBTFUL; DT Josh Tupou (knee) QUESTIONABLE
  • Chiefs: S Tyrann Mathieu (concussion), RB Darrel Williams (toe) QUESTIONABLE

Wide receiver Stanley Morgan is trending in the wrong direction as the Bengals wrapped up the week of practice. After practicing on a limited basis on Wednesday and Thursday, he missed the final session of the week due to a hamstring injury and is now doubtful to play in the AFC title game. Defensive end Cam Sample is also doubtful after not participating in practice all week. Defensive tackle Josh Tupou is officially questionable but was able to practice all week on a limited basis.

The Chiefs are relatively healthy heading into the AFC Championship, but safety Tyrann Mathieu will be a big name worth watching as we get closer to kickoff. He is still in concussion protocol and is officially listed as questionable vs. Cincinnati. However, coach Andy Reid did display some optimism that Mathieu may be able to clear protocol before Sunday. Meanwhile, Darrel Williams was a limited participant in practice both Thursday and Friday.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams (-3.5)
