Rams vs. 49ers odds, spread, line: 2022 NFC Championship Game picks, predictions by top model on 137-97 run

Including the 2022 NFL playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams have lost only three of their 10 games since Week 10 of the regular season. Two of those defeats came against the San Francisco 49ers, who have won nine of their 11 contests during that span. The Rams (14-5) will hope to avoid yet another setback against their division-rivals when they host the 49ers (12-7) in the 2022 NFC Championship Game on Sunday. NFC West champion Los Angeles is in the midst of a six-game losing streak in the all-time series, last defeating San Francisco in the finale of the 2018 season.

Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. ET. Los Angeles is a 3.5-point favorite in the latest Rams vs. 49ers odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 45.5. Before locking in any 49ers vs. Rams picks, make sure you see the latest NFL predictions from SportsTek's proven projection model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up over $7,500 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. Now, the model has set its sights on Rams vs. 49ers on Sunday. You can visit SportsTek now to see the picks. Here are the NFL odds and trends for 49ers vs. Rams:

  • Rams vs. 49ers spread: Los Angeles -3.5
  • Rams vs. 49ers over-under: 45.5 points

  • LA: Rams are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games
  • SF: 49ers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as road underdogs

Why the Rams can cover

Cooper Kupp had a regular season that has garnered MVP consideration and he hasn't slowed down in the playoffs. The 28-year-old wideout had a touchdown catch in both of Los Angeles' contests this postseason to extend his overall streak to four games. He racked up 183 yards on nine receptions in the 30-27 divisional-round victory at Tampa Bay last weekend, finishing 15 yards shy of the franchise playoff record set in 1950 by Tom Fears. Kupp had a 70-yard TD catch in that contest and hauled in a 44-yard pass to set up the game-winning field goal as time expired.

Kupp isn't the only weapon in Los Angeles' aerial attack, as wide receiverOdell Beckham Jr. quickly has become a key factor. The 29-year-old, who was released by Cleveland on Nov. 8 and signed by the Rams three days later, registered 305 receiving yards and five touchdown catches in eight regular-season games. Beckham has continued to produce in the NFL playoff bracket, hauling in 10 passes for 123 yards and a TD.

Why the 49ers can cover

San Francisco has had the Rams' number of late, winning six consecutive meetings since falling 48-32 at Los Angeles in the 2018 season-finale. The 49ers were underdogs in five of those six victories and scored 20 or more points in every win. Jimmy Garoppolo performed better than Los Angeles' Matthew Stafford in the two matchups this season, posting a 108.1 passer rating compared to his counterpart's 78.6 mark and completed 75 percent of his pass attempts to Stafford's 64.

The 49ers have been comfortable on the road, where they went 6-3 during the regular season, with each loss being by seven points or fewer, before posting playoff wins at Dallas and Green Bay. They're looking to become the first team to win four straight contests that were away from home since the 1966 Kansas City Chiefs, who ended their regular season with three road triumphs before posting a victory at Buffalo in the AFL title game. San Francisco was tied for fifth in the NFL in 2021 with 48 sacks and has recorded five in each of its first two postseason games.
