Suns vs. Pacers prediction, odds, line: 2022 NBA picks, Jan. 22 best bets from model on 56-30 run

Teams on a bit of a roll meet when the Indiana Pacers battle the Phoenix Suns in an NBA interconference matchup on Saturday night. The Pacers (17-29), fourth in the Central Division and 13th in the Eastern Conference, have won two in a row and are 2-1 on their West Coast trip. Indiana defeated Golden State 121-117 in overtime on Thursday night, despite missing power forward Domantas Sabonis (ankle), who is expected to miss a couple of games, and center Myles Turner (left foot), who has a stress reaction and will be re-examined in a couple of weeks. The Suns (35-9), first in the Pacific Division and in the Western Conference, have won five straight and eight of nine. Phoenix stopped Dallas 109-101 on Thursday. Deandre Ayton (ankle) has been ruled out for this one.

Tipoff from Footprint Center in Phoenix is set for 9 p.m. ET. Phoenix leads the all-time series 51-43, but the Pacers have won six straight in Phoenix. Phoenix is a 12.5-point favorite in the latest Pacers vs. Suns odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is set at 218. • Pacers vs. Suns money line: Pacers +550, Suns -800
  • IND: The Pacers are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 Saturday games
  • PHO: The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall

Shooting guard Devin Booker, who has scored 30 or more points in three of his past four games, joined Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to notch 48-plus points, six-plus assists, five-plus rebounds, three-plus steals and zero turnovers in a game on Monday night in San Antonio. Booker finished with 48 points on 18 of 33 shooting. He became the seventh-youngest player in league history to reach 10,000 points when he did it against Oklahoma City on Dec. 29. For the season, Booker is averaging 24.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

Point guard Chris Paul continues to be the catalyst of the offense. In the win at Dallas, Paul scored 20 points, dished out 11 assists, grabbed five rebounds and had two steals and one block. He totaled 15 points, a game-high 12 assists and two blocks in the win at San Antonio. For the season, Paul has 19 double-doubles, including in the past two games, and one triple-double. He averages 14 points, 10 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

Despite that, Phoenix isn't a lock to cover the Pacers vs. Suns spread. That's because Indiana has six players averaging in double figures, including shooting guard Chris Duarte, who tied a career high with 27 points in the win over Golden State on Thursday. It was his third game in a row reaching double digits and the 28th time he has accomplished that this season. He is averaging 17.3 points in the first three games of the West Coast swing and is averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game on the year.

Small forward Justin Holiday has reached double-figure scoring in seven straight games, including a 16-point performance in the overtime win at Golden State. In the first meeting with the Suns at Indianapolis, Holiday poured in 25 points in a 112-94 loss on Jan. 14. He has been on fire from long range, and has made 18 3-pointers over the last four games with at least three in each. He is the only Pacers player to appear in every game over his first two seasons with Indiana.
