Handicapper Bio

I am currently finishing my PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on statistical analysis.  I use quantitative methods based on chess rankings to identify inconsistencies in MMA odds.  I combine this knowledge with my two years of experience as a profitable gambler and a reduced application of the Kelly Criterion to define optimal wagers.  The system’s suggested wager is reduced by 50% to minimize the variance to my bank roll, but if the client is feeling aggressive, the system itself predicts wagering twice the amount that I post and I stand by that a profit will occur if the client bets up to twice the amount I suggest.  (The system is very, very aggressive.)

I have posted a general explanation of my system on BloodyElbow.com (http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2014/8/1/5958537/hard-numbers-interpreting-the-model) as well as briefly posted my mentality as I walked through selecting what wagers I would make on an event (http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2014/8/15/6005213/hard-numbers-ufn-bader-vs-st-preux). [Please note that my posting there in no way indicates that BloodyElbow.com has anything to do with my service, or that they have any opinion of me, positive or negative.]  I was comfortable posting these picks for free after I had placed my wagers, but I have since found my system to be very effective at selecting winning “teams” for Fantasy MMA.  I have decided that if I am posting my picks, it will be limited only to picks that I decide to place a wager on, and with an appropriate compensation for my information.

I do not always find opportunities for every event, and I will not post wagers just to fit a certain expectation.  However, I do attempt to find opportunities in every event posted to 5Dimes, so if there is not a wager available for an event, then I did not feel there was a situation where I could comfortably invest my, or my client’s, money.

I feel that being an advisor in this capacity carries the responsibility of being available for my clients (or those considering becoming one), so please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.  I look forward to fully catering to my clients, and would appreciate any thoughts you have to improving my ability to do so.
