D-backs, Phils set for sequel to record homer nightFLMThe Arizona Diamondbacks, coming off a record-setting power display, will look for their sixth consecutive victory when they face the host Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.The Diamondbacks hit a franchise record eight home runs Monday in a 13-8 win over the Phillies, including back-to-back-to-back homers to start the game. Eduardo Escobar and Ildemaro Vargas each slammed two home runs on the night, and Jarrod Dyson, Ketel Marte, David Peralta and Alex Avila also went deep.Arizona's pitching wasn't nearly as formidable, as the Phillies cracked five homers, resulting in a major-league-record 13 home runs for both teams combined.The Diamondbacks hope Jon Duplantier (1-0, 3.27 ERA) can slow the Philadelphia offense as he makes his third major league start. He has lasted five innings in each of his first two starts.Last Wednesday, Duplantier gave up three hits and two runs with a career-high seven strikeouts in a no-decision as the Diamondbacks earned a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.Duplantier, 24, was rated the No. 2 prospect in the Diamondbacks' organization by Baseball America. He has never faced Philadelphia in his brief career."I liked what I saw," Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said after Duplantier's latest start. "It was the fastball attack I talked about early.
