Seattle's Gonzales takes on Angels, shoots for 3-0 start Seattle's Gonzales takes on Angels, shoots for 3-0 startMarco Gonzales should look familiar to the Los Angeles Angels when he takes the mound for the Mariners in the second of their two-game series on Tuesday night in Seattle.Gonzales made six starts against the Angels last season, going 3-0 with a 3.34 ERA.He'll try to improve to 3-0 this season and give the Mariners their best eight-game start in franchise history, having won six of seven so far.Seattle won the opening-game of the series, 6-3, on Monday night.Gonzales has benefited from solid run support from the Mariners, who are averaging 7.7 runs a game.Gonzales was the first pitcher besides Felix Hernandez to start a season opener in the past 10 years. He then went out and beat the Oakland A's on March 20 in Tokyo, Japan, allowing four runs (three earned) and seven hits in six innings of the 9-7 win.Gonzales took the mound on Thursday and allowed four runs (three earned) and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings of a 12-4 win against the visiting Boston Red Sox."We're still in the process of figuring out who we are and what we're going to do, but I think right now we have a foundation built where we're going to come and compete, and we're not really listening to expectations," Gonzales told 710 ESPN Seattle.
