Dodgers aim to bounce back from heartbreaker vs. Pirates 2h ago• 2 min read PITTSBURGH -- After a heartbreaking loss on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers will look to respond when they again face the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday at PNC Park.Los Angeles lost 1-0 in 10 innings Wednesday after left-handed starter Rich Hill carried a perfect game into the ninth and a no-hitter into the 10th. Josh Harrison hit a leadoff walk-off home run in the 10th inning to give Pittsburgh the win.Hill said he was disappointed he couldn't get the win, but he looked forward to returning to the park Thursday."I know it sounds a little boring, but that's it," Hill said. "We have a lot of great things going on here. Something what you have to continue to do is put in the work just one day at a time. Take the series and get back home." Even with that loss, the Dodgers (89-36) have a chance to win the four-game series on Thursday. Los Angeles won the first two games and has won 15 of 20 in August.Harrison, who has four home runs in his past seven games, gave Pirates fans something to cheer for after a stretch of eight losses in their previous 10 games. Pittsburgh (61-66) is all but out of the playoff race.Pirates manager Clint Hurdle hopes to experience a similar atmosphere Thursday."It's a great environment to play through for the guys that were on the field," Hurdle said. "I know there are guys that have experienced more. (David) Freese has been to the seventh game of the World Series. But for some of our guys, to be a part of that, watch it unfold, battle through it and win a game, I think that adds to the value of the experience you can gain up here." Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu (4-6, 3.45 ERA) likely won't match Hill's outing, but he will attempt to produce another efficient start. He didn't allow a run in three of his past four games, with his most impressive effort coming against the Mets on Aug. 6, when he one-hit New York through seven innings. In his last time out, Ryu didn't surrender a run while allowing just three hits with four strikeouts in six innings against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. The Pirates will answer with Chad Kuhl (6-8, 4.52 ERA). The right-hander had one of his better starts of the season his last time out. Kuhl allowed one run on three hits with six strikeouts against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday despite rain delaying the game nearly two hours in the second inning.Kuhl took the loss when he faced the Dodgers earlier this season. In Los Angeles on May 10, he gave up four runs on six hits in five innings.Los Angeles, which scored 14 combined runs in the first two games of this series, will look to bounce back offensively after being shut out Wednesday.Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager could help. He will carry a 12-game hitting streak into Thursday after going 3-for-5 Wednesday.
