Dodgers offense looks to stay hot vs. GiantsFLMLos Angeles didn't get starting pitcher Rich Hill's best effort on Saturday, but Corey Seager and the hot-hitting offense was enough to push the first-place Dodgers past the host San Francisco Giants in the middle contest of their three-game series.Los Angeles, which leads the NL West by 10 games over the Colorado Rockies, will try to win the series against its rival on Sunday at Oracle Park. The Dodgers will send right-hander Walker Buehler (6-1, 3.69 ERA) to face San Francisco lefty Madison Bumgarner (3-5, 4.05).The offense of Seager and Justin Turner combined for seven of the club's 11-hit attack, and the duo drove in six runs in the 7-2 win a night after falling 2-1 to the Giants.Seager tied his career-high with four hits -- which he had achieved six times previously -- and also drove in four runs. The club expected Turner (hamstring tightness) to have the day off on Saturday, but the third baseman was back in the lineup against San Francisco's Jeff Samardzija.Turner went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Cody Bellinger went hitless -- the first time he has gone without a hit in consecutive games this season -- but was walked intentionally three times.Bellinger, who also earned three intentional passes in September of 2017, joined Mike Scioscia as the only players to receive three free passes in multiple games for the Dodgers.Seager said the Giants' stadium remains a difficult environment, despite his huge game Saturday."It's a tough place to play with the atmosphere," said Seager, who boosted his average to .270. "We come in here and have to grind." San Francisco will look to Bumgarner to clinch the series against Los Angeles, though the North Carolina native hasn't won in his last five starts against the Dodgers.Bumgarner's last victory against Los Angeles was on Sept. 23, 2017, and he is 0-3 with a 2.70 ERA since that victory. Overall against the Dodgers, he is 15-12 with a 2.56 ERA in 34 career appearances (33 starts).Like they did in their 2-1 win over Clayton Kershaw on Friday, the Giants produced very little offense on Saturday -- once again scoring just a pair of runs, on a night when Hill clearly didn't have his best stuff and escaped bases-loaded situations on two occasions. With one out and the bases packed in the third inning, Hill struck out Evan Longoria and induced a flyout by Tyler Austin. In the bottom of the fifth with the first three batters reaching base, Hill worked a popout from Kevin Pillar and a double play from Brandon Crawford."The story was, I mean, we had traffic out there all day. All day," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "And we couldn't find a way to get a run in. ... That's not going to work. Somebody's got to come through."That's the difference in the game." Buehler is coming off an excellent performance Monday against Arizona, allowing just one run and two hits while striking out 11 in eight innings of a victory. He is 2-0 with a 4.38 ERA in four appearances (two starts) in his career against San Francisco. The Giants have been platooning at catcher with veteran Stephen Vogt against right-handers and rookie Aramis Garcia, who homered off Hill, facing lefties in the absence of Buster Posey.Posey, who is out with a right hamstring strain, is expected to play next Wednesday when San Francisco hosts the San Diego Padres in the finale of a two-game series.--Field Level Media
