Grandal, Brewers look to sweep skidding Dodgers Yasmani Grandal will try to continue reminding the Los Angeles Dodgers what they let get away when the Milwaukee Brewers go for the sweep of their three-game series in Los Angeles on Sunday.Grandal spent the past four seasons as the starting catcher for the Dodgers before signing with the Brewers in the offseason.Grandal is 5-for-8 in the first two games of the series with a home run, double and three RBIs."That was my home pitching staff for the past four years, so I feel like I've gotten to see them a little bit more," Grandal said before going 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 4-1 win on Saturday. The Dodgers haven't lost seven in a row since an 11-game losing streak from Sept. 2-11, 2017, the longest skid since the team arrived in Los Angeles in 1957."We're going to be fine," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the loss on Saturday night. "It's not how you want to get to 8-8, but I'm really not too concerned with the results that have happened. I just think we have to continue to pitch well, get ahead, play defense like we've been playing and take those good at-bats, and it'll turn." Brewers starter Jhoulys Chacin (2-1, 4.24 ERA) hasn't been stellar so far this season, but he has been consistent, which is a definite improvement over his first three starts last season.Chacin was 0-1 with a 6.59 ERA after three starts a year ago before finishing 15-8 with a 3.50 ERA, the best overall season in his 10-year major league career. He was named the Opening-Day starter for the Brewers and allowed three runs and three hits in 5 1/3 innings of a 5-4 win against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. He put up similar numbers in his next two outings, a 4-3 win at the Cincinnati Reds on April 2, and a 5-2 loss at the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.Chacin spent the first seven years of his career in the NL West with the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks, and has faced the Dodgers more than any other major league team. He's 11-9 in 26 regular-season appearances (25 starts) against Los Angeles with a 4.41 ERA.Chacin faced the Dodgers twice in the NL Championship Series last October. He threw 5 1/3 shutout innings in a 4-0 win in Game 3, came back five days later for Game 7 and only went two innings, allowing just a two-run homer to Cody Bellinger before handing the game over to the bullpen in the 5-1 loss.Bellinger, who leads the NL with nine home runs, is 5-for-12 off Chacin with two home runs in his career.Dodgers starter Ross Stripling (0-1, 3.78 ERA) is looking for his first win in his fourth start of the season.Stripling's best chance at a victory came in his season debut against the visiting Diamondbacks on March 29, when he pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings before departing with a 3-0 lead. The bullpen gave up three runs in the seventh, however, another in the eighth and one more in the 13th in the 5-4 loss.He most recently gave up four runs and five hits in five innings of a 4-0 loss in St. Louis on Tuesday.Stripling has made three appearances against the Brewers in his career, including one start. He does not have a decision, nor has he allowed a run in five total innings against Milwaukee.--Field Level Media
