Gray to make home debut for Yankees vs. Mets 2h ago• 3 min read NEW YORK -- Many things have gone wrong on the mound for the New York Mets this season.Jacob deGrom is among the few things to go well.The Mets will start deGrom on Tuesday against the New York Yankees, who will unveil Sonny Gray to fans at Yankee Stadium for the first time.DeGrom is 13-5 with a 3.21 ERA after allowing four hits in 6 2/3 innings of a 10-0 win at Philadelphia on Thursday. He struck out nine but exited early after getting hit with on the triceps by a line drive from Nick Williams.Manager Terry Collins confirmed the right-hander is ready to start.In his past 11 starts, deGrom is 9-2 with a 1.82 ERA. He has totaled 85 strikeouts while issuing 16 walks in that span, and his nine wins in that period are the most in the majors."We always talk and we have for a long time that if you are the number one guy, you step up, and Jake's done that all season," Collins said. "This stage, he's used to this stage. He's pitched in big games in the playoffs. He's pitched in huge games in the World Series and the All-Star Game. If there's one guy you feel comfortable sending out there on this stage, it would be him."
