Time: 7:00 PM EST Venue: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pa., 19148 / The new-look Philadelphia Flyers will search for their second straight win when they host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Just minutes before Monday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, the Flyers dealt winger Wayne Simmonds to the Nashville Predators for Ryan Hartman and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2020. Simmonds had 16 goals and 11 assists in 62 games with the Flyers this season. Hartman, meanwhile, has 10 goals and 10 assists in 64 games. The Flyers kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a stunning 4-3 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday before an outdoor crowd of 69,620 at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia trailed by two goals with less than three minutes remaining when it pulled goaltender Brian Elliott. James van Riemsdyk scored on the power play to get the Flyers within 3-2 and Jakub Voracek tied the game with 19.7 seconds left. Captain Claude Giroux provided the game winner 1:59 into overtime.''It was just kind of a relief to finally win an outdoor game,'' Giroux told reporters. ''It was a battle to get it, but sometimes those games -- the hardest to win, are the nicest to win.''Elliott or backup Cam Talbot will be the starter again as rookie Carter Hart is out for at least another week with a lower-body injury. Hart was pulled in consecutive games last week against the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning." I couldn't tell if he was favoring," Flyers interim head coach Scott Gordon told reporters. "I don't necessarily look at just the goals if I'm gonna pull the goaltender. It's more about how he's handling the rebounds and I felt like pucks were coming off him funny." The Sabres also made a couple of deals well before the trade deadline, sending defenseman Nathan Beaulieu to the Winnipeg Jets for a sixth-round pick. Buffalo also acquired defenseman Brandon Montour from the Anaheim Ducks for a first-round pick and prospect Brendan Guhle." Nobody wants to get traded," Montour told the Buffalo News. "Obviously sad to leave friends. I was drafted there. ... It's one of those things where I want to prove them wrong. I wanted to stay there for a long time, but it didn't happen. This is home now." Montour didn't play as the Sabres were unable to extend their winning streak to two on Monday as they fell 5-3 on the road to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Montour is expected to be in uniform against the Flyers. Jack Eichel scored his 20th goal of the season at 19:07 of the first period, but the Maple Leafs scored four unanswered goals on their way to the victory. Eichel added another goal, No. 21, to bring the Sabres within 4-3 early in the third yet the Maple Leafs pulled away. Rasmus Dahlin contributed a pair of assists for Buffalo.''We had like seven or eight minutes of bad hockey where we let them get behind us, and that was it,'' Eichel told reporters. ''They had too many odd-man rushes in the second period, and it cost us the game.''--Field Level Media
