After scoring twice during his first league appearance following the World Cup break, a British Newspaper has described Erling Haaland as “Head and shoulders over the rest”. That’s a reference to the Norwegian’s impressive long blond hair and a known shampoo brand.

Since Haaland signed with Manchester City last summer, there’s no better way to describe how much the Norwegian has dominated the English Premier League. Although the reigning EPL champions are yet to clinch their third consecutive league title, ManCity is trailing this season's surprise squad, Arsenal, sitting five points behind them and with 18 matches remaining to play.

On an individual level, Haaland has justified the fear that opposing managers experienced when a player with this combination of skill, size (6-foot-3), and speed arrived from Borussia Dortmund. However, the main question going into the new season was how large his scoring tally would be. Some fans predicted he would break the single-season premier league record of 34 goals set by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

Others predicted he would score over 40 goals, with Betway offering sports bet enthusiasts the chance to bet on different outcomes. Few also predicted that he’d eclipse 50 goals, something that looked impossible at the beginning. However, Haaland has gone ahead to score 25 goals in 19 games this season.

Some of the records that Haaland has broken this season include the quickest player to record 10 goals (reaching it in six games), the fastest EPL player to reach 20 goals (thirteen games), the quickest player to record three hat tricks (achieving it in eight games). He’s also the only EPL player to have ever scored 20 goals before January, despite the season featuring a 6-week break during the World Cup.

With eighteen games remaining, there will be plenty of opportunities for punters to wager on EPL games with Betway as we wait to see what’s next for Haaland. The Norwegian forward is currently on the trail for a previously unheard record of 49 goals in a season if he plays all the remaining games and maintains his current scoring rate per game.

Haaland is Trailing to Shatter the Premier League Scoring Record

Whenever Eerling Haaland touches the ball or comes near it, Premier League defenders are always on high alert to avoid potential embarrassments. Haaland is surrounded by some of the best playmakers in the world including Bernado Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Phil Foden, which makes the 50-goal mark quite feasible.

Besides EPL records, Haaaland is on the way to destroying more records and he’s quickly climbing the record books of the big five football leagues in Europe. That includes breaking the record for the best season totals for the Spanish La Liga, Germany’s Bundesliga, Italy’s Serie A, and French Ligue 1.

If Haaland continues with his current strike rate, only Messi’s incredible 50-goal La Liga record set during the 2011/2012 season with Barcelona will stand in his way of dominating the big five leagues. Either way, Haaland's achievement during his inaugural season is outstanding, as he’s doing it at only 22 years. On the other hand, Messi recorded his 50-goal record at 24 years after spending the last seven seasons building his career with Barcelona’s first team.
