The American University Eagles will look for their second consecutive win when they take on the Army Black Knights in a Patriot League matchup on Wednesday night. The Eagles (5-10, 1-2), who snapped a three-game losing streak with a 63-55 win over Bucknell on Sunday, have dropped 10 of 13 after a 2-0 start to the year. Army (10-8, 4-2), meanwhile, has won four of six, but dropped a 68-54 decision at Louisiana on Sunday. Army won the last meeting with American 89-66 in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals in 2020-21.

Tipoff from Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y., is set for 6 p.m. ET. American leads the all-time series 31-15, including a 13-9 edge in games played at West Point. For the season, he is averaging 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

The Eagles have four players averaging 9.5 points per game or better, including two in double figures. Leading the team is senior guard Stacy Beckton Jr., who is averaging 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists and steals. He is connecting on 41.7 percent of his field goals and 78.4 percent of his free throws. He has reached double-figure scoring in nine games, including a season-high 24 points in a 74-62 win over William & Mary on Nov. 12.

Sophomore guard Colin Smalls is coming off an 18-point performance against Bucknell on Sunday and has reached double digits in seven games. His best effort was a 22-point game at Duquesne on Nov. 28. He also scored 20 points in an 83-73 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Dec. 8. For the season, Smalls averages 10.2 points, 2.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
