Bills' Dane Jackson released from hospital after suffering scary neck injury vs. Titans, per report

The Buffalo Bills' Monday night matchup vs. the Tennessee Titans was put on pause with just under one minute remaining before halftime, as Bills cornerback Dane Jackson suffered what appeared to be a very scary head or neck injury.'

Jackson was making a tackle on Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks'when he was hit by teammate Tremaine Edmunds. Jackson was on his stomach, when Edmunds came diving in and bent Jackson's neck backwards in an unnatural way. Jackson remained on the turf for about a minute before an ambulance was called out onto the field.

The entire Bills team walked onto the field to watch their teammate be loaded into the ambulance.'

The Bills later announced that Jackson was taken to ECMC Hospital for evaluation of a neck injury. He is undergoing a CT scan and an X-Ray. Thankfully, the Bills also announced that Jackson has full movement in his extremities.

The test results must have turned out well because NFL Media reports that Jackson'has been released'from the hospital on Tuesday morning and is continuing his recovery at home. Mike Garafolo adds that Jackson walked out of the hospital and that "all indications" are that Jackson avoided a serious injury despite how bad the hit looked.

Following the Bills' 41-7 victory, head coach Sean McDermott told reporters that he spoke to Jackson in the tunnel before the ambulance left for the hospital.'

"You go from being a coach to just being a human when I'm out there watching him getting loaded into the ambulance. That's a real moment," McDermott said, via News 4 Buffalo. "Just praying for him. It's an unfortunate situation. We're praying for him and hopefully we get some word here soon."

Jackson was a seventh-round pick of the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Pitt. He entered this season with 56 combined tackles, 11 passes defensed and one interception in 22 career games played. In the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams'last week, he recorded five combined tackles, one pass defensed and an interception of Matthew Stafford.
