No. 19 Houston tunes up for conference title game at UConn

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - No. 19 Houston (10-1, 8-0 American) at UConn (1-10), Saturday at noon EST (CBSSN)

Line: Houston by 32 1/2, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Series record: Houston leads 2-1.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

Houston is trying to extend a 10-game winning streak and win 11 games for the fifth time in program history. The Cougars have secured a spot in the American Athletic Conference championship Game. UConn is trying to beat an FBS opponent for the first time in over two years.

KEY MATCHUP

Houston's offense against the Huskies' defense. UConn is giving up more than 37.9 points a game, while Houston is scoring an average of 38.2.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Houston: Houston running back Alton McCaskill is tied for second in program history with 15 rushing touchdowns, trailing only Greg Ward, who scored 21 in 2015. But McCaskill is coming off an injury that kept him out of the second half against Memphis and coach Dana Holgorsen would not comment on his status for the game.

UConn: The Huskies quarterback carousel continues. Freshman star Tyler Phommachanh was lost early in October with a torn ACL. Steve Krajewski and Jack Zergiotis have been splitting the starting duties in his absence. Krajewski is expected to start Saturday.

FACTS & FIGURES

The Cougars have won all five of their road games this season. They have not won six straight road games since 2011. This would be just the fifth time in program history the team has been undefeated on the road, joining the 2011, 1988, 1979, and 1952 teams.
