VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Pan American Silver Corp. (PAAS) on Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings of $76.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had profit of 36 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 15 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 22 cents per share.

The silver mining company posted revenue of $439.9 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $419.3 million.
