Thomas' 21 lead Sacred Heart over Holy Cross 84-77

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Tanner Thomas scored 21 points as Sacred Heart beat Holy Cross 84-77 on Tuesday night.

Thomas also contributed five rebounds for the Pioneers (2-1). Alex Sobel scored 15 points and added 13 rebounds and four blocks. Kyle McGee was 2 of 8 shooting and 6 of 8 from the free throw line to finish with 11 points.

Joseph Octave led the way for the Crusaders (1-2) with 20 points and seven rebounds. Caleb Kenney added 20 points and seven rebounds for Holy Cross. Will Batchelder also had 18 points and four assists.

Both teams play on Friday. Sacred Heart visits UMBC and Holy Cross plays Winthrop.
