Doubleheader...

I talked a lot of smacked about Claude last week. I don’t know if he’s even aware of the human prisoner who calls him out every time there’s an NFL game, but yesterday he went super conservative and agreed with me on everything except the main event, where a defensively hobbled Detroit limped into Arrowhead and got their helmets handed to them. The Chiefs appear to be turning back into the Chiefs. So good job, Claude. We are now tied for the season. 10-10. You have unlimited data points and up-to-the-minute injury reports. But I have logged in tens of thousands of hours sitting on steel watching football games. You deal in measurables. I deal in intangibles. Which is more relevant? We’ll know by week 17. But until they invent Artificial Intuition, I like me over you.

That said, I’m not overly confident with my picks tonight. The Bills are coming off a loss, but Atlanta is home and well rested. Both teams are missing key pieces. Is this the prime time game where Michael Penix asserts himself as the best QB from the 2024 draft? Not if the two QBs in the second matchup have anything to say about it. 2024’s 1st overall Caleb Williams will be facing 2nd overall Jayden Daniels in Landover for the second straight season. Washington is the stronger team when they’re healthy, but they’re not healthy. Are they healthy enough to beat an average Chicago team at home? It took a Hail Mary in the final seconds for them to win last year... But I’m rambling. Just gimme the points in both games.
