Dan's UFC Fight Night 59 Recap

After going 4-0 in the UFC, Conor McGregor had a lot of hype going into UFC Fight Night 59. His odds were -1100 and his only win in the top 10 was over Dustin Poirier, a fighter who did have a couple losses in the division already.

As the fight drew near, everyone was counting out his opponent Dennis Siver. It got to the point were even McGregor said he only would need 2 minutes to finish Siver. Turns out Siver survived the first round and nearly survived 2 minutes into the second. Now although McGregor's performance was no short of brilliant, Hector and I found a better play than his 11 to 1 favorite odds. For just -291 (just under 3 to 1 favorite), we had bet that this fight would not see a third round, regardless of who won. Knowing that Siver's first round can usually be his best, we liked this play much more just in case McGregor did get caught with Siver's deadly spinning back kick to the body.

In addition to this prop, we had 4 straight plays that all cashed with wins by decision. Though there were a couple controversial unanimous robberies by Cerrone and Pendred, our wins were justified even though judges were split on 2 of them. Our big plays on Holohan and Wade were unanimous and I myself took the props on these 2 to win by decision. Wade was a nice price at +225 by decision knowing how tough his opponent was. Holohan cost us big time in his last fight and lost to a fighter he definitely should've finished early. He nearly had the finish once again this time, but his opponent stepped up and survived cashing Holohan to win by decision at a whopping +450.

Was a great 2nd card to start off the year and brings our event winning streak to 4 now. 13+ units in 2015 now and that is 9/9 100% Bet Selection payout on the last 2 events. Tomorrow's FOX card in Sweden looks very promising!
