Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

  • Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs): A perennial MVP candidate, Mahomes is arguably the league’s top quarterback with a combination of arm talent, mobility, and leadership. He's experienced in big games, including Super Bowl wins.
  • C.J. Stroud (Texans): Stroud is having a more difficult sophomore year than what he experienced as a rookie and he lacks Mahomes' playoff pedigree and experience.

Winner if QB decides the game: Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes).

Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions

  • Jared Goff (Lions): Goff has been steady and productive this year, leading the Lions to one of their best seasons. He also has Super Bowl experience with the Rams.
  • Jayden Daniels (Commanders): JD has shown promise but remains relatively inexperienced compared to Goff. Only elite QBs can beat the Lions. If Washington wins I will declare Jayden Daniels an instant elite quarterback, no questions asked.

Winner if QB decides the game: Lions (Jared Goff) but Jayden Daniels has been hitting all the shots.

Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles

  • Jalen Hurts (Eagles): Hurts is an MVP-caliber player with elite dual-threat ability and leadership. He led the Eagles to the Super Bowl last season.
  • Matthew Stafford (Rams): Stafford is a former Super Bowl champion and has one of the best arms in the league but has struggled with injuries and inconsistent team performance this season.

Winner if QB decides the game: Eagles (Jalen Hurts).

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills

  • Josh Allen (Bills): Allen is one of the most dynamic QBs in the league, with incredible arm strength and mobility. Limiting turn-overs has been key to his success this year, the lowest of his professional career.
  • Lamar Jackson (Ravens): Jackson is a former MVP who thrives as a dual-threat quarterback. His ability to make plays with his legs and arm is elite. Lamar Jackson has 41 touchdowns to 4 interceptions, also an example of extraordinary.

This matchup is tight. Allen's arm gives him a slight edge, but Jackson's dual-threat ability makes it a coin flip depending on the game scenario.

Winner if QB decides the game: Slight edge to Bills (Josh Allen), but Lamar Jackson could easily take this one.

Summary

  • Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes)
  • Lions (Jared Goff)
  • Eagles (Jalen Hurts)
  • Bills (Josh Allen)

The "better QB" often wins, but football is a team sport, so other factors (defense, coaching, supporting cast) also play a huge role.
