CLEVELAND (AP) - Shereef Mitchell had 15 points as third-seeded Ohio knocked off sixth-seeded Western Michigan 82-55 Thursday night in the Mid-American Conference tournament quarterfinals.

Ohio will play second-seeded Akron in the second of two semifinal games Friday. night. Bowling Green, the No. 5 seed, faces eighth-seeded Kent State in the other semi.

Mitchell had six steals for the Bobcats (20-12). Miles Brown shot 4 of 9 from the field, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 3 from the line to add 13 points.
