Brewers' Peralta returns from IL to face Rockies The Milwaukee Brewers were forced to get a bit creative with their pitching staff after a pregame injury to their starter prior to Wednesday's contest.The Brewers hope to travel a more traditional route on Thursday when they welcome back right-hander Freddy Peralta from the injured list for the finale of their four-game series against the visiting Colorado Rockies.Peralta (1-0, 7.13 ERA) has been sidelined since April 16 due to a shoulder ailment. He owns a 2-0 mark with a 1.54 ERA in two starts against Colorado, both last season. Peralta turned in a memorable 13-strikeout performance over 5 2/3 scoreless innings on May 13, 2018, in his major league debut at Coors Field.The Brewers hope Peralta is up for the challenge on Thursday, one day after Milwaukee scratched right-hander Chase Anderson from his scheduled start because of a cut on the middle finger of his pitching hand. Milwaukee used six pitchers in what became a bullpen game.Colorado's Nolan Arenado belted a three-run homer in the first inning to set the tone before capping the Rockies' season-high scoring output and his 16th career multi-homer performance with a solo blast in the ninth."Nolan gave us a big swing early after a couple of walks, and then we sort of quieted before we picked it back up again," Rockies manager Bud Black said. "To a man, there were some really quality at-bats."
