LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Lamar Wilkerson scored 25 points as Sam Houston beat New Mexico State 79-58 on Thursday night.

Wilkerson was 8 of 12 shooting (7 for 8 from 3-point range) for the Bearkats (16-11, 9-3 Conference USA). Marcus Boykin was 3 of 8 shooting and 6 of 10 from the free throw line to add 13 points. Davon Barnes went 4 of 5 from the field to finish with 12 points.

The Aggies (11-16, 5-7) were led in scoring by Kaosi Ezeagu, who finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Christian Cook added 14 points for New Mexico State.

Both teams next play Saturday. Sam Houston visits UTEP and New Mexico State plays Louisiana Tech at home.
