WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Bryce Harris scored 23 points as Howard beat Hampton 92-80 in the season opener for both teams on Monday night.

Harris added five rebounds and three steals for the Bison. Marcus Dockery was 7 of 11 shooting (5 for 8 from 3-point range) to add 21 points. Shy Odom was 4 of 7 shooting and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 12 points, while adding eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Tedrick Wilcox Jr. finished with 24 points and three steals for the Pirates. Hampton also got 14 points and two steals from Kyrese Mullen. In addition, Tristan Maxwell had 11 points and two steals.

NEXT UP

Both teams next play Thursday. Howard visits Georgia Tech and Hamptontakes on Mid-Atlantic Christian at home.
