![](Orioles rally past Mariners 8-7 for 7th straight victory 6m ago• 3 min read BALTIMORE During a seven-game winning streak that's turned around their season, the Baltimore Orioles have found all sorts of ways to come out on top.Their latest victory featured an impressive comeback, four home runs and a very timely replay challenge.Welington Castillo went 4 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs, Jonathan Schoop singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and Baltimore beat the Seattle Mariners 8-7 on Wednesday for a three-game sweep.Less than 24 hours after subduing the Mariners behind a sensational pitching performance by Dylan Bundy, the Orioles called upon their power-laden lineup to offset a poor start by Ubaldo Jimenez.''At this time we've been able to dial up what was needed on a given day,'' manager Buck Showalter said. ''I think we kind of know it's, `OK, what do we need to do tonight to win?'''Schoop, Trey Mancini and Craig Gentry went deep for the Orioles, whose seven-game run is a season high. In this one, Baltimore fell behind 6-2 in the third inning before coming back.Mitch Haniger homered and hit two doubles for Seattle, which completed an arduous 12-game East Coast trip with five straight defeats. After winning two of three in Tampa Bay and Atlanta, the Mariners went 1-2 at Yankee Stadium and came up empty against the sizzling Orioles.While Baltimore has been finding ways to win, the Mariners are doing the exact opposite."There's been different reasons for the losses,'' manager Scott Servais said. ''Some of it's been lack of offense. Today we had plenty of offense. It's been different areas.'' After Baltimore went up 7-6 in the sixth on a bases loaded sacrifice fly by Manny Machado, Seattle pulled even in the eighth when Haniger connected off Brad Brach (4-4).In the bottom half, Castillo singled off Christian Bergman (4-5) and went to second base on a sacrifice bunt before being replaced by pinch-runner Caleb Joseph. Tim Beckham then hit a liner to short, and Joseph was called out on the relay to second. But a replay overturned the call, and Schoop followed an intentional walk to Machado with a single to center off Marc Rzepczynski.Zach Britton pitched the ninth for his 13th save.''Everything is working out now,'' Castillo said. ''The pitchers are pitching better. We're hitting better. We're playing defense better.'' Mancini hit his 23rd home run and Castillo added an RBI double in the second for a 2-0 lead, but Seattle answered with a six-run third that included a two-run double by Haniger and two-run singles by Mike Zunino and Nelson Cruz, the latter of which ricocheted off second base.Jimenez was charged with all six runs, but Baltimore's robust offense eventually took him off the hook.Castillo homered with a man on in the fourth and Gentry followed with a drive to right. Miranda faces former team in Mariners-Orioles matchup 1h ago• 2 min read BALTIMORE -- Ariel Miranda will give the Baltimore Orioles a look at what might have been when he starts for Seattle in the series finale Wednesday afternoon at Camden Yards, trying to help the Mariners take one game of the three-game series.Baltimore posted a 4-0 victory over the Mariners on Tuesday night thanks to Dylan Bundy's one-hitter. Bundy struck out a career-best 12 batters and limited Seattle to a bunt single from Kyle Seager.The Orioles (67-65) have won six straight, including the first two of the series, and they sit 1 1/2 games behind the Minnesota Twins in the battle for the second American League wild card.Seattle (66-67) is 1 1/2 games back of the Orioles.Baltimore is getting good pitching lately, something that has been sorely missing from the rotation this year. Meanwhile, Miranda has been a pleasant surprise with the Mariners.The left-hander is 8-6 with a 4.62 ERA, and he had a five-game win streak earlier in the year. He pitched in just one major league game for the Orioles in 2016 before Seattle acquired him midseason in the Wade Miley deal. He finished 5-2 with a 3.88 ERA overall last year.The Wednesday game will be his first career appearance against his former team.Miley has been inconsistent for the Orioles since then, and Miranda certainly could have helped Baltimore.Ubaldo Jimenez (5-9, 6.57 ERA) will start Wednesday for Baltimore. He is 2-4 with a 6.50 ERA against Seattle in his career.Manager Scott Servais hopes the Mariners can give Miranda some offensive help, but Seattle has had problems in that regard recently."We have talked often on this road trip that we have to hit and score runs, and we haven't done that the last three or four days, for the most part," Servais said.Tim Beckham has been so hot at the plate for the Orioles that he got a hit even a few days after a plate appearance. Major League Baseball and the official scorer changed the scoring on a play from Baltimore's 16-3 win in Boston on Friday.Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers was originally charged with an error on the play, but it is now an infield single for Beckham, the Orioles announced Tuesday.Beckham is hitting .393 since coming to Baltimore from Tampa Bay at the trade deadline. Manager Buck Showalter said sometimes when players get a clean slate after a trade."He's playing well, and it's been fun to watch his confidence grow," Showalter said. "It's been good. It's been a big part of us getting better." The Orioles made a move Tuesday, optioning left-handed reliever Donnie Hart back to Triple-A Norfolk. Baltimore had just called him up Monday but needed to open a spot for Bundy, who came off the bereavement list to start Tuesday.For Seattle, Jarrod Dyson (groin strain) did not rejoin the active roster. The rain that pelted Baltimore on Tuesday and caused a 32-minute delay at the start of the game kept the Mariners and Servais from letting the outfielder do too much."He had a good workout," Servais said pregame. "We'll see where he's at later (Tuesday). He wasn't going to do much out there anyway, other than take (batting practice)."
