Time: 9:00 PM EST Venue: Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary, Canada, T2G 2W1 / CALGARY, Alberta -- A day after bidding farewell to Jaromir Jagr, the Calgary Flames will welcome back fellow Czech right winger Micheal Frolik to their lineup against the expansion Vegas Golden Knights. After Jagr cleared waivers on Monday, the Flames assigned the NHL's second all-time leading scorer to his hometown HC Kladno team in the Czech Republic." When he was healthy, he was quite dominant," said Calgary coach Glen Gulutzan in regards to Jagr, who the Flames signed to a one-year, $1 million contract at the start of the regular season. "He could never get any traction with his knee (injury). It's unfortunate that he couldn't get going, but he really made our team better." Gulutzan also confirmed that Frolik, who missed the past 12 games with a broken jaw, will make his return to Calgary's lineup on Tuesday when the Flames (25-16-8) take on the Golden Knights (32-12-4) at the Scotiabank Saddledome." He's going to add some speed back into the lineup," said Gulutzan of Frolik, who will be reunited on a line with center Mikael Backlund and left winger Matthew Tkachuk. "He's elite in the NHL at getting and holding and keeping pucks. If you give the top players the puck long enough, they're going to do something with it, but if you have it most of the time, it cuts into their productivity. Just having him in the lineup has a residual effect on the entire team." Although the Flames have lost four straight games in extra time (two in overtime and two more in shootouts), they have gone 7-0-4 in their previous 11 outings heading into Tuesday's game against the NHL's second-best team." We haven't played them yet so it's really hard to know what to expect," said Flames left winger/center Sam Bennett. "We've watched some game clips and we know the players, obviously. It will be a little bit of the unknown to start off, but we're expecting a really good game." After going 3-0-1 in their previous four games, the Golden Knights dropped a 2-1 decision to the New York Islanders at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last Thursday." For the most part all season long, we've had 20 guys going and played five-man units all over the ice," defenseman Deryk Engelland told Global TV of what has made the Golden Knights so successful this season. "We play that hard-working game and it's done us a lot of good so far." Engelland will play his first game against his old team since the Golden Knights selected him in the expansion draft this past summer." I'm looking forward to coming back," Engelland told the Flames website. "You meet some wonderful people during your travels in hockey and I met a lot in Calgary." It'll be fun reliving some of the memories and seeing a bunch of the guys again, the ones you grew close to and still call friends." Both teams also made moves on Monday as the Flames recalled forwards Ryan Lomberg and Andrew Mangiapane from the AHL's Stockton Heat, while the Golden Knights summoned defenseman Jason Garrison from the AHL's Chicago Wolves.
