In 2023, I realized that if I wanted to continue betting the NFL and have an advantage I needed to create a set of power rankings. I kept my same model foundations and just created the rankings in a way that made sense to me. And I had no clue how my set of power rankings would play out in real time game action. Over the course of the season I saw which paramters of the rankings was most successful betting against the spread. 2023 was a strong year and I was able to put the parameters I want into the new Model.

In 2024, in order to bet the first few weeks of the NFL season i realized I needed to carry over the 2023 rankings and adjust them. This was the creation of the "Adjusted Power Rankings." And I had no clue how long I could continue the adjusted previous season's power rankings and adapt them to the current season. Last season's results showed it was effective thru week 9. I also found that my other set of rankings for the current season they need to mature a little bit before seeing betting action. I found out week 5 is too soon for the current season's power rankings. Weeks 7-9 showed to be a better start for the current season's power rankings. Also favorites covered at a rate not seen since 2005 last year. And i needed to tighten up my outside parameters by literally 1 point for the 2025 season. I had a literally 1 point parameter get destroyed in the final weeks of the season last year. I can keep that 1 point extra parameter for the adjusted ratings but once the current ratings take off on their own after week 9 I need to have that adjusted set of parameters.

In 2025, the model is still in beta mode. I'm seeking to verify what the last two year's worth of Model tuning is profitable this year and that I've finally dialed it in where I can back it with some cash.
